Malcolm C. Samuel is the visionary founder behind Big Tree Property Management Group, bringing over 25 years of leadership experience in property management, residential estate operations, and real estate development, both in South Africa and across the continent.
Malcolm’s professional journey has included executive roles in some of Africa’s most prestigious Estates, Country Clubs and Property Developments, including Simbithi Eco Estate in Ballito, Mt. Edgecombe Country Club and Broadlands in Durban, and developments as far Ghana. His career highlights include managing property portfolios valued at over R100 million, overseeing teams of 500+ staff, and driving multi-million-dollar development projects with strategic precision and a passion for excellence.
As a Master Property Practitioner (MPRE) and Chartered Business Accountant, Malcolm is known for his hands-on leadership, governance expertise, and deep understanding of community-focused development. His business ethos is built around delivering professional, transparent, and innovative property solutions—whether managing day-to-day operations, advising on new developments, or executing high-impact community projects.
With a strong foundation in financial management, infrastructure planning, and compliance, Malcolm leads Big Tree Property Management Group with a clear vision:

He is actively involved in the industry, served on boards such as the Residential Community Council and the Club Managers Association of South Africa, and has chaired the KZN Community Managers Forum. His strategic insight is complemented by a relational, team-driven leadership style that values integrity, innovation, and sustainable growth.
When not working with clients or overseeing projects, Malcolm enjoys golf, travel, and experimenting with aquaponics as part of his commitment to sustainable living.
